NYSE Policy/Procedures for selecting a DMM

Each stock listed on the NYSE and NYSE Amex is allocated to a Designated Market Maker (DMM), a market professional who acts as the contact point between brokers with orders to buy shares and brokers with orders to sell shares. DMMs have obligations to maintain orderly markets and facilitate price discovery in their assigned securities.
